Beat the heat – it’s easy when you know how!

31 August 2023

Hot summer days are fantastic… you just wish they’d go on and on.

Hot summer nights when you’re trying to get the kids to bed or get to sleep yourself? Not so much!

For many New Zealand families, opening a window, turning on a noisy fan or just putting up with it have been the only choices.

At EES we reckon you can do better than that – much better.

These days, air conditioners are quiet, efficient and come in such a wide range of models and installation options that they’re within reach of more families than ever before. At EES, we’re Auckland’s air conditioning and heat pump experts, so we’ve installed just about every kind of air conditioner, in just about every kind of home, in just about every suburb!

Let’s take a look at the options.

A high wall air conditioner is what most people picture when they think of air conditioning. A sleek, modern indoor unit is mounted up near the ceiling, delivering cool air to the whole room. Outside, an outdoor unit does the hard work, removing heat from the room via a radiator. Plumbing between the two moves the liquid refrigerant and its heat energy from one part of the system to another.

Depending on the unit you choose, control is via a conventional remote control of a smartphone app.

High wall air conditioners are ideal when you just have one room to keep cool such as a bedroom or, increasingly these days, a home office.

What if you want the functionality of a high wall system but don’t want a unit on your wall?

A floor-mounted air conditioner does everything a high wall one does, but your indoor unit sits on the floor against a wall.

So much for single-room solutions. What about when you want your entire home cooled to perfection?

That’s where an EES specialty comes in: ducted air conditioning.

A ducted air conditioning system uses one centra indoor unit concealed in your roof space, delivering cooled air to your rooms via small ceiling ducts. Like a high wall system, there’s an outdoor unit doing the work.

Control for a ducted system can be via a remote control, smartphone app or wall-mounted control panel.

Whichever system you choose, trustworthy advice is the first step – get in touch today to arrange a no-obligation visit from your local EES team.
